Nanoweek was formally opened by the Minister for Science and Education, Batt O’Keefe on Monday 30^th November in Tyndall National Institute, UCC.  RTE were there for the launch and they also accompanied Aoife O’Donoghue, Outreach Officer from Tyndall to St Vincent’s Secondary School earlier in the morning, where she gave a workshop on nanoscience to transition year students. Making ice-cream using liquid nitrogen was particularly well received, and highlighted the presence of the nano ice-cream van outside Science Gallery, Dublin.
